Copic Markers and Copic Ink on A1 Paper, 27th Oct 2011

Drawing done for Yujia's birthday coming up next week.
I tried out spraying on ink blotches, didn't have an airbrush system so the smaller bits was just me and my breath and my ink refills.

Created such a mess that I had to wipe my floor with hand sanitizer (ink is alcohol based), got some on myself and even some on my bedspread since my table was near my desk. SOBS!!!

Hope I do a better job with it next time...

The People Game

I did a random experiment today.

I basically stripped my normal behaviors and mimicked people around me's habits. how they will behave, how they react and how they talk or phrase their sentences. I'm amused to confirm my believes that people do have double standards for themselves and their friends.
They actually got annoyed when I behaved like them.

How amusing is that?

I should do such experiments more often.
So fun.

CFA bothers me a tad bit too much

Not because the materials are ridiculously though but because there is SO MUCH material to go through. 5 books of content and 2 books of practice questions. I'm in the middle of book 3 now, wayyyyyyy behind my planned schedule but hey, I deserve some credit for studying still.

Ok maybe not.

Feel so deprived recently cause I haven't gone anywhere by myself lately. I love random solo shopping trips, so therapeutic and stress free. At my own pace, at my own preference. I should head out tomorrow maybe for a short trip then come home to study. Again. Can't wait till CFA is over.

I need air. And entertainment.
I think the past few weeks of drama packed days has caused me to find everything boring now adays. Tolerance to entertainment? That's awful omg.

I need entertainment.

So not. Was gonna study but somehow we ended up drinking bubble tea at the new store downstairs.

An acquaintance of mine opened a store here right below our apartment~ so we have a new gathering place now.

Cheerleader effect

Was talking to Jun Chan just now over lunch and she was talking to me about the cheerleader effect. It's referring to how if you look at a group of people as a whole, they look very attractive but if you take a closer look at them individually they look a lot more "meh". Lol.

I wonder if that's why most artists now adays in Asia are all groups hehehehe

Nitty gritty little things

1: my iPod is distracting me
from everything! Wifi connected devices are all distracting me from my CFA books. Yikes

2: Rainstorm
Seems like every time when I'm dying to leave the house something pops up and I get stuck. Apparently a massive storm is on its way to Toronto and I'm not gonna risk getting stuck in the pouring rain

3: duck neck is my newly found comfort food
Ive been nibbling at them like rabbits. Honestly they are so addictive that I have to control my daily intake of these little bone-sections-with-oh-so-little-flesh-on-them. We'll see if I give up on them anytime soon.

Tribute to my 8 year long love affair with tattoos

It evolved over the years, I would say starting when I was around 14,
I still remember how it came from being a random squiggly line with attempted thorns into this thing that I would proudly add to my photos.

I can't tell exactly how many evolutions it took,
from solid spikes, to spikes with filler bumps (my random names for its elements)
to hollow spikes, with varying sizes,
to shadowed spikes, (or even disintegrating spikes in some of my drawings)
and then to detached spikes, curves and even dots and circles getting involved

It took a long 8 years,
growing more and more as time pass
but it is something I proudly call my own.

I know sometimes tribal tattoos all look the same to some people

but for those of you with a sharp eye

you'll know when you see one that came from my pen.
